Saturday, August 18, 2018 US soul singer Aretha Franklin died in her Detroit, Michigan home on Thursday morning, her publicist Gwendolyn Quinn stated on behalf of the family. According to the statement, the official cause of death was pancreatic cancer. Per the statement, Franklin died at about 9:50 am local time, “surrounded by family and loved ones.
