The scandal arose from concern that data collected by Apple would make it possible for anyone with access to a person’s private computer to retrieve information about their movements. Wednesday, June 3, 2009 Over 60 miners were killed in an abandoned gold mine shaft near Welkom, in the Free State province of South Africa, after a fire broke out inside the mine. 36 bodies from the Harmony Gold mining company Eland mine shaft were brought up earlier on the weekend from depths up to 1.4 kilometers (1 mi). Sunday, August 22, 2010 Scottish poet Edwin Morgan has died at the age of 90. The cause of death was announced as pneumonia. Morgan’s writing career spanned for more than 60 years. He was Scotland’s first national poet, known as the “Scots Makar”. His death was confirmed by his publisher. Born in Glasgow in 1920, Morgan grew up in Rutherglen. Tuesday, May 5, 2009 As many as 45 people have been killed and six others were injured after at least four gunmen with grenades stormed a wedding reception in the village of Bilge located in Turkey. Many of those killed were women and children.
